St. Francis Brooklyn Men's Water Polo @ Home Oct. 1 & 2

This weekend the St. Francis Brooklyn men's water polo team (4-7; 0-1 NWPC) opens it's home slate of matches against three Northeastern Water Polo Conference rivals. At 11am on Saturday,  Massachusetts Institute of Technology (4-3; 0-0 NWPC) visits Brooklyn Heights. The Engineers seek a two-game winning streak against their Brooklyn rivals by virtue of last year's 14-13 win in Cambridge — breaking a 22 year-long losing streak against the Terriers.

At 5pm, Harvard University (10-1; 0-0 NWPC) — #8 in the latest CWPA Men's Varsity Poll and the East's top-ranked squad — will face St. Francis. The Crimson are looking to extend a modest three-match winning streak over the Terriers, by virtue of a 13-8 victory in the 2015 CWPA playoffs.

Sunday at 10am Brown University (8-5; NWPC) will visit the Generoso Pope Athletic Center to rekindle one of the fiercest rivalries in Eastern water polo. In 2014 the Bears ended the Terriers run of nine-straight Northern Division titles on their way to their first appearance in the NCAA Men's Water Polo Tournament in 29 years.

Between matches on Saturday the Brooklyn Heights St. Francis Water Polo Club will play a U16 scrimmage against The Pingry School of New Jersey. The two youth clubs will square off at 2pm.

Admission is free to all matches. For more information contact the St. Francis Brooklyn Athletics Department.
