Do I have to tryout or pass a swim test to join the club?

Each player must be a proficient swimmer. Our coaches will assess swimming skills during your first practice. You will be allowed to join a practice to determine if water polo is for you, before you register for the season. Brooklyn Water Polo Club is not a-learn-to-swim program.

Where are practices?

St. Francis College Pool, 180 Remsen Street, Brooklyn 11201
LIU Brooklyn Pool, Steinberg Wellness Center, 161 Ashland Place, Brooklyn 11201

What should I bring to practice?

Boys wear a speedo-style swimsuit (no swim trunks) and a swim cap for long hair. Girls wear a one-piece water polo swimsuit that zips up the back and a swim cap. Bring goggles and a towel along with a your team spirit. A mouth guard is recommended if you are wearing braces.
